Smalls Results

Racing Formats

Smalls to the Wall will took place on April 27, 2024. Kayak boat lengths limited to 9'6.

Registration 9:00 AM, located at Smalls Falls Rest Area
Safety Meeting 10:30 AM, located at Smalls Falls Rest Area
Chandler Mill Time Trial begins 11:00 AM
Smalls Falls Time Trial begins 1:00 PM
Awards Ceremony 3:30 PM, located at Smalls Falls Rest Area

Chandler Mill Time Trials

Time Trials will begin at the top of Chandler Mill Gorge. These races are dependent on spring run off from snow melt. The race consists of up to five class IV-V waterfalls over a quarter mile, including a 35 foot slide.

Smalls Falls Time Trials

Like Chandler Mill, Smalls Falls races are dependent on spring run off. Kayakers will paddle down five to six class V waterfalls totally 65 vertical feet in a tenth of a mile. The waterfalls vary in size from 5 to 20 feet.

Athlete Eligibility

Smalls to the Wall is an exhilarating event that challenges expert paddlers to navigate the stunning class IV-V cascades of Chandler Mill stream and Smalls Falls in Rangeley, Maine. It is imperative you are mentally and physically ready to participate in these races prior to registering.
